Bipolar RFITT applicator
Bipolar RFITT applicator
For safe and effective treatment of sleep related breathing disorders, with minimal time and resource input, the Celon ENT system with CelonProSleep Plus is the intelligent choice. Minimally invasive procedures take minutes and deliver precise and reproducible results with very low risk of post-operative infection.
The Celon ENT system produces reproducible and effective results, with speed, safety and simplicity. The CelonProSleep Plus bipolar RFITT applicator enables gentle, repeatable treatment of sleep related breathing disorders, usually in an outpatient setting. CelonProSleep Plus generates precise and reproducible thermo-lesions in the tissue of the soft palate, the palatine tonsils or root of the tongue. Procedures take a few minutes and result in low pain and low risk of post-operative infection. CelonProSleep Plus is the intelligent solution for routine ENT practice.
With the use of bipolar electrodes, the radiofrequency current only flows between two poles of the applicator tip. Thus, no grounding pad is needed.
The acoustic impedance feedback gives you total control over the procedure and the auto-stop function enables reproducible treatment results.
Because of the interstitial application, the mucosa stays intact and there is only a low risk of bleeding. Therefore, swabs are unlikely to be required.
Celon ENT is easy to set-up and gives reliable feedback throughout the procedure, avoiding guessing or counting like competitive devices.
Treatment is usually possible under local anaesthesia and therefor there is no need to use the operating theatre for procedures.
One lesion takes only 6-10 seconds and preparation is minimised compared with laser treatment or with monopolar options, which require a grounding pad.
CelonProBreath can be used in outpatient settings with local anaesthesia. Patients benefit from protection of the mucosa in oral cavity and very low bleed risk.
CelonProSleep Plus is the bipolar RFITT applicator for outpatient treatment of sleep related breathing disorders due to hypertrophic palatine tonsils and mild cases of obstructive sleep apnoea as well as for stiffening the soft palate.
CelonProSleep Plus generates precise and reproducible thermo-lesions in the tissue of the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and root of the tongue for effective combined treatment of mild cases of obstructive sleep apnoea.
The patient's body gradually breaks down the coagulated tissue following treatment, resulting in a reduction in volume. Tightening and stiffening of the muscle of the soft palate can also be achieved as a result of the formation of scar tissue.
Most procedures can normally be carried out under local anaesthesia, although general anaesthesia is advisable for root of the tongue treatment in certain cases and for treatment of palatine tonsils in small children.
The CelonProSleep Plus can be inserted into different tissue regions depending on your requirements, for accurate treatment of the palate, for tonsil reduction or for treatment of the root of the tongue.
The curved form of the CelonProSleep plus applicator allows you to easily reach the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and the root of the tongue. The applicator's special construction also allows submucosal treatment of the deeper lying tissue layers.
Treatment requires successive puncture points to be applied close to one another, but tissue or organ surfaces remain intact, so postoperative pain and the risk of infections are reduced.
CelonProSleep Plus enables gentle, repeatable treatment that creates precise and reproducible thermo-lesions. Procedures take a few minutes and result in low pain and low risk of bleeding.
The bipolar electrode configuration of the RFITT applicator allows the treatment area to be precisely defined, as the radiofrequency current flows exclusively between the two poles of the applicator tip.
The precisely defined tissue area is heated to approximately 80° Celsius by the radiofrequency current and is therefore thermally denatured in a tissue sparing and controlled way. Soft coagulation is generally achieved after just a few seconds.
