Safety

With the use of bipolar electrodes, the radiofrequency current only flows between two poles of the applicator tip. Thus, no grounding pad is needed.

CelonProSleep Plus is the bipolar RFITT applicator for outpatient treatment of sleep related breathing disorders due to hypertrophic palatine tonsils and mild cases of obstructive sleep apnoea as well as for stiffening the soft palate.

Precise, predictable thermo-lesions

CelonProSleep Plus generates precise and reproducible thermo-lesions in the tissue of the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and root of the tongue for effective combined treatment of mild cases of obstructive sleep apnoea.

Therapeutic effect

The patient's body gradually breaks down the coagulated tissue following treatment, resulting in a reduction in volume. Tightening and stiffening of the muscle of the soft palate can also be achieved as a result of the formation of scar tissue.

Simplicity and convenience

Most procedures can normally be carried out under local anaesthesia, although general anaesthesia is advisable for root of the tongue treatment in certain cases and for treatment of palatine tonsils in small children.

Easy placement

The curved form of the CelonProSleep plus applicator allows you to easily reach the soft palate, the palatine tonsils and the root of the tongue. The applicator's special construction also allows submucosal treatment of the deeper lying tissue layers.

Treatment requires successive puncture points to be applied close to one another, but tissue or organ surfaces remain intact, so postoperative pain and the risk of infections are reduced.

Bipolar electrodes

The bipolar electrode configuration of the RFITT applicator allows the treatment area to be precisely defined, as the radiofrequency current flows exclusively between the two poles of the applicator tip.

Soft coagulation

The precisely defined tissue area is heated to approximately 80° Celsius by the radiofrequency current and is therefore thermally denatured in a tissue sparing and controlled way. Soft coagulation is generally achieved after just a few seconds.
